3 teams from the Isle of Man Yacht Club went to Peel Sailing and Cruising Club’s regatta. The competition was fierce and a hotly contested start line soon showed the men from the buoys.
Robert Floate’s, Tanit lead the fleet around the short course in Peel bay making sailing feel a lot like interval training. Close on her heels was Cool Comfort, sailed by Mike Stanton. Genesta II, helmed by Mick Kneale, fresh back from his French excursions was back to his old tricks towing race marks around the course.
The first race was won by Tanit, with Genesta II in seconds and Jim’s Whitelegg in third.
The bonus race was a dash for the cash, or wine, again Tanit showed her legs and won from Cool Comfort.
It was great to sail in new waters and we were thrilled to be hosted by such a warm club. The weather was superb sailing conditions! We hope you will return and sail to Port st Mary for our IOMYC regatta on 27th -28th of July.
