Social Events

The IOMYC has a thriving and well supported social calendar for our members. This is organised by our Social Committee who meet once a month (on a Wednesday evening) to plan future events and review the ones we have just delivered.

We like to have a real combination of social events on offer, which appeal to all of our members. This includes suppers, parties, talks, tastings and sports on the big screen.

In the summer, events are mainly focused around sailing events. Fitting Out and Lift Out suppers signify the start and end of the season and are great fun. Regattas normally mean BBQs on the terrace and the Wednesday night racing around the cans always ends with supper in the club house.

In the winter, events are designed to keep us cheerful! We have Halloween, Christmas, New Year and Burns night events. This year we have also started Wednesday Winter Warmers - these supper and games evenings are hosted by keelboat crews and have proved to be a popular way to meet and make new friends during the dark evenings of winter.

All of our social events are on the IOMYC website calendar so please have a look. We would be delighted if you were able to join us at events or in the bar.

If you are a new member and would like to attend an event or have a night in the bar but don't know anyone, please contact Tracy Broom and we will partner you up with some current members, so you have friendly company all evening.
